Turkmenistan Visa on Arrival Instructions

Visa Information

The visa will be obtained when crossing the border from Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan. Your local guide will also assist you in the process. 

All Wendy Wu group tours entering Turkmenistan will obtain a visa on arrival. Wendy Wu Tours will assist in the preparation and ensuring you have the correct documents to assist. 

What we need from you:

We require the documents listed below to apply for your Letter of Invitation. Documents are due no later than 60 days prior to departure. 

Checklist - at the border:

  • Your passport with a minimum of 6 months validity
  • Letter of Invitation - Wendy Wu Tours will obtain this (sent to you with your final documentation)
  • USD 55 visa fee + USD 18 immigration fee + USD 33 PCR testing fee per person for Australian Passport holders. That is, a total of USD 106 per person (cash only)

The visa and Immigration fee can only be paid in cash to the Immigration officers at the border of Turkmenistan. All passengers must have sufficient, undamaged USD bills - newer than 2006.

Basic Application Requirements:

  • Passports must have a minimum of 6 months validity left, from the date of your arrival back into Australia.
  • Scans must be coloured, clear and no information cut off. 
  • The Turkmenistan visa is valid for 10 days, with the possibility of extension depending on your tour.
  • If you have arrangements not booked through Wendy Wu Tours that will affect your visa (such as own arrangements before your tour with us), then please provide a detailed travel itinerary issued by a travel agent, airline or cruise company which includes your full name, the dates and places of entry and exit as well as the mode of transport to be used. 
  • The above visa processing fee is for Australian passport holders only. If you hold a passport of another nationality, additional fees may be required.

Visa Photo Requirements

  • Standard size is 6cm high x 4cm wide
  • Photos must be professionally taken and can be obtained from any post office, photographer or photo kiosk.
  • Professional photograph showing close up of head and top of shoulders are visible.
  • Photograph must be no more than 6 months old. Cropped images from a passport biopage will not be accepted (unless passport is less than 6 months)
  • Must be in colour with a plain, light-coloured background (e.g, white, or light cream).
  • Must show applicant looking directly at camera with neutral expression.
