Transport (Maldives)

Navigating the Maldives requires a unique approach to travel, as transit relies entirely upon maritime vessels and specialised aircraft rather than traditional roads.

  • Speedboat Transfers (proximate atolls): Destinations located within the North Malé, South Malé, or Vaavu Atolls are serviced by luxury speedboats departing directly from the airport marine jetty. These transfers range from 15 to 60 minutes and operate a 24-hour schedule to accommodate both daytime and late-night international arrivals.
  • Seaplane Transfers (remote atolls): For properties located at greater distances, your journey will include a scenic seaplane transfer. Please Note: Seaplanes operate strictly during daylight hours (approximately 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
  • Domestic Commercial Flights (Extended Distances): To reach the outermost northern and southern atolls, guests travel via regional domestic airlines to a localised island airport, followed by a short connecting speedboat ride.
