Currency (Mexico)

Mexico's official currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN) and includes denominations of 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 pesos.

US dollars are widely accepted in holiday resort areas. You generally can not exchange Australian currency and traveller's cheques in Mexico.

ATMs are widely available in cities and towns. Please confirm with your bank that your card will work.
