Entry Requirements (Central Asia)

At this current time, the following documents are required for entry to Central Asia:

  • A valid passport with a minimum of 6 months' validity
  • Complete a foreign currency declaration form on arrival.

Armenia

  • Australian passport holders are visa exempt up to 90 days
  • There are no entry requirements for Armenia - however this could change at any moment. To stay up to date please check Smart Traveller

Azerbaijan

  • E-visa is require for Australian passport holder - Wendy Wu Tours will apply for this on your behalf. Additional information can be found here

Georgia

  • As of 01 January 2026, it will become mandatory for all tourists entering Georgia to have health and accident insurance. This must be presented in paper form; please ensure that you have a printed copy of your travel insurance with you to show upon entry. (This was previously to be introduced effective from 01 June 2024, however has been postponed to January 2026)
  • Australian passport holders are visa exempt up to 1 year

Kyrgyzstan

  • Australian passport holders are visa exempt up to 60 days

Turkmenistan

  • Visa on arrival (USD 55 + USD 14 immigration fee) paid on arrival in USD bills only.
  • COVID-19 PCR test is required on arrival for (USD 33) at passenger's own expense paid in USD bills only.
  • International Covid vaccination Certificate (minimum 2 vaccines)

Tajikistan

  • A negative COVID-19 nucleic acid (PCR) test taken within 72 hours of departure.
  • You must register within 10 working days of arrival. If you are staying in a hotel, your passport is required and staff will complete the registration paperwork at check-in and return your passport to you. You will need to do this at each hotel you stay at.

Uzbekistan

  • You must register within 3 working days of arrival. If you are staying in a hotel, your passport is required and staff will complete the registration paperwork at check-in and return your passport to you. You will need to do this at each hotel you stay at.
