Currency (Singapore)
In Singapore the local currency is the Singapore Dollar. Singapore is well developed regarding banking system. This means getting their currency is easy even though US dollars, Australian Dollars, Japanese Yen and Pounds Sterling are accepted in most stores and hotels. However, it is highly recommended when travelling to towns outside of the major cities that extra care is taken when exchanging money. You should only change money at officially authorised currency exchanges. We suggest exchanging your money before travelling to remote areas and smaller towns, it is not possible to use your international credit card or to withdraw money. Your Local Guide will remind you to do this before departure. As well, if possible, have multiple sources of money with you such as US dollars, a Visa card, a Mastercard, a debit card and the local currency.
