Currency (Costa Rica)

Costa Rica has its own national currency – the Costa Rican Colón (CRC). However, the CRC is difficult to find in Australia, so we recommend taking US Dollars which are both easily exchanged for local currency upon arrival, and also widely accepted in Costa Rica.

ATMs are widely available and credit cards are widely accepted. There is a limit on the amount you can take into Central America which is currently US$10,000.
